Let's not forget these "True" winners....

"Winners"...who are they?  We all know that this is the most over used word...since childhood.  It started with sports,  everyday games we play, gambling, in our jobs, relationships..etc..etc.

I recently met a wonderful lady in one of my training classes in San Francisco.  We met sometime last year.  She is quiet and a bit reserved.  I can tell that she is extremely bright and articulate.  She asks tons of questions with such a motivation to learn!

She came up to me with a smile and introduced herself to me.  She told me that she is in class because the Department of  Rehab (as in Drug Rehab) offered her technical training to get her back on track.  She told me about the drinking, the seizures and the waking up 'not knowing where she's at'.

I believe she is one of the most dedicated women I've met.

Today, she told me that it was her anniversary...her "2 Years of being Sober anniversary!!"

She announced it in class today and we were all so proud of her!  With such a beautiful and happy smile she tells me..."Cherry, I did it!  I cannot believe that it has been 2 years!  I told her...she is on the right track and I am so proud!

So, let's think for a moment, yes winning takes effort, hard work and dedication.  They say the hardest is to finally admit to the problem...but let's continue supporting them and each other, that we are compassionate beings.  Let us not forget these.."True" winners.
